Antony Blinken, US Secretary of State, has disclosed that technology companies in the United States are collaborating with Nigerian partners to help meet host President Bola Tinubu's initiative to create one million digital jobs.

Blinken, Blinken, who visited Nigeria to discuss bilateral relations, said US entrepreneurs and companies are keen to collaborate and participate in Nigeria's economy, particularly in the technology sector.

"Other companies are hard at work laying undersea cables, using satellite technology to expand access to the internet," Blinken said.

"Our tech incubators are developing Nigeria's next startups. Our venture capital firms are working to finance them," the envoy said.

"So we want to work in partnership to help drive Nigeria's technological revolution, which is creating jobs, its growing businesses, and it's spurring innovations in both of our countries."

Blinken highlighted one of US President Joe Biden's initiatives, the Digital Transformation with Africa Initiative.

He stated that the American administration was working and partnering to promote the development and application of artificial intelligence for good.

Blinken was speaking following a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs Yusuf Tuggar.
