Nigeria probes possible breach of citizens database
The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) of Nigeria is investigating an alleged breach of citizens' data on the National Identity Number (NIN) database, which was allegedly caused by the XpressVerify website.
Yesterday, the commission informed
citizens that it is conducting a thorough investigation into the alleged breach
to see whether any of its "tokenisation verification agents had breached
the licencing arrangement either directly or through their sub-licensees.”
